I caught up with Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen today. He was skating with a small group of players out in Frisco. I’ll have a story about him on the official site in the next day or two, but for now here are a couple of quotes.
On the offseason changes
“It’s going to be exciting. Every year there are some changes and this time there were many, many changes. It’s always the same because it’s tough to see your friends go somewhere else, but we’ve got some new guys coming here and we are getting some great players. It’s going to be exciting to see how we are going to become a team, start playing and winning together. I’m excited. I haven’t seen the coach, but I’ve talked to him a couple of times. He seems like a real nice guy and from what I’ve heard he’s a real good coach. That’s always a plus. The GM seems really knowledgeable and he has a plan for us. It’s good. I can’t wait to get to camp and get this started.”
On the Stars’ new uniforms
“I am starting to like them. I felt like maybe we didn’t need to change the logo, maybe bring back the old star and all that stuff. Now, I’ve lived with it for a little while and I really like it. There are experts who are deciding these things and they got it right. The only hard thing is I need to change my pants now. I usually wear the same pants for five or six years, so it’s hard for me to put on the new ones. Now I have to, I have no choice. That’s the only thing I wasn’t happy with.”
