World Championship notes: Loui Eriksson notches goal, assist as Sweden wins

Stars forward Loui Eriksson scored one goal and assisted on another as Sweden defeated Norway, 5-1, at the World Championship on Wednesday.

Eriksson scored off a wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle at the 14:00 mark of the first period to give Sweden a 2-0 lead. He assisted on a Gabriel Landeskog empty-net goal in the third to make it a 5-1 game.

Eriksson played 17:46 in Wednesday’s game, had two shots on goal and a plus-two rating.

Eriksson squares off against Dallas teammates Brenden Dillon and Stephane Robidas Thursday when Sweden and Canada play. Stars players Antoine Roussel and Philip Larsen also will be in action on Thursday.
