World Championship notes: Loui Eriksson picks up an assist, but Sweden falls

Dallas Stars forwards Loui Eriksson and Antoine Roussel both were on the losing side on day one of the 2013 World Championship.

Eriksson had one assist, one shot on goal and a minus-one rating as Sweden lost, 3-2, to Switzerland. He played on Sweden’s top line with Niklas Persson from the KHL and Dick Axelsson of the Swedish Elite League.

Roussel had no points, three shots on goal and a minus-one rating in France’s 6-2 loss to Slovakia on Friday. Roussel, who played center, won eight of 16 faceoffs.

Stars defensemen Brenden Dillon, Stephane Robidas and Philip Larsen begin play on Saturday. Robidas, Dillon and Team Canada take on Larsen’s Denmark squad in Stockholm.
