Dallas Stars forward Alex Chiasson missed his fourth straight game Tuesday night due to a shoulder injury, but he is getting closer to a return.
Chiasson skated Tuesday morning in San Jose and could be ready to go as early as Thursday’s game against Columbus at American Airlines Center.
“Right now my injury feels pretty good,” Chiasson said. “I’ve just got to focus on getting my legs and my lungs back. I haven’t skated much since that Chicago game. I had one little skate, and today was really my first skate. “
The next test for Chiasson is whether he can take a hit, according to Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.
“We’ll see how he is for Thursday,” said Gulutzan. “He’s close.”
Chiasson has scored six goals in seven games since being called up from the AHL following the NHL trade deadline. He was injured in the April 15 game in Chicago when he was hit by Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson.
