Friday prospect notes: Brett Ritchie scores again

Here are a few notes on Dallas Stars prospects who were in action Friday night.

*RW Brett Ritchie (second round/2011) ran his goal scoring streak to four games, picking up one goal in Niagara’s 6-3 loss to Mississauga in the Ontario Hockey League Friday night. Ritchie has eleven goals during the four game streak and has now tallied 14 goals over his last eight games.

*C Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) picked up one goal and one assist as Owen Sound defeated Brampton, 5-3, in the OHL. Smith has registered points in 12 of his last 14 games.

*RW Matej Stransky (sixth round/2011) ran his points streak to five games with two assists in Saskatoon’s 6-3 win over Regina in the Western Hockey League.  Stransky has six points (one goal, five assists during the streak.

*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) registered one goal and one assist in Prince Albert’s 3-0 victory over Seattle in the WHL. Winther has five points (three goals, two assists) over his last two games.

*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) scored one goal and added an assist as Victoriaville routed Cape Breton, 7-1, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Vance has four points (two goals, two assists) over his last five games.

*LW Curtis McKenzie scored a goal as Miami University defeated Northern Michigan, 5-2, Friday night. McKenzie has registered a point in five of the seven games he’s played this season.

*C Scott Winkler (third round/2008) scored a goal in Colorado College’s 3-2 win over Bemidji State. Winkler has five goals in nine games this season.
