Dallas Stars release 2013-14 broadcast schedule

Dallas Stars President and CEO Jim Lites, in conjunction with FOX Sports Southwest Senior Vice President and General Manager Jon Heidtke, announced today the club’s 2013-14 regular season television schedule. Seventy-eight of the team’s 82 regular season contests will televised locally in high-definition on FOX Sports Southwest and TXA-21.

In addition to the games being televised locally, a total of four Stars contests will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network: Nov. 26 vs. Anaheim, Dec. 3 at Chicago, Jan. 21 vs. Minnesota and March 3 vs. Buffalo.

FOX Sports Southwest returns for its 21st year broadcasting Stars telecasts, featuring 63 games this season. Fifty-four of the contests will be televised on FOX Sports Southwest, beginning with the season-opener on Thursday, Oct. 3 when the Stars host the Florida Panthers. Nine games will be shown on FOX Sports Southwest PLUS, starting on Nov. 1 with the Stars’ contest against the Colorado.

FOX Sports Southwest’s comprehensive coverage includes “Stars Live” pre- and postgame shows before and after every game, a weekly “Stars Insider” magazine show, and interview and documentary specials airing throughout the season.

For the 4th season, a number of Stars telecasts will air on TXA-21, starting with Dallas’ second game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 5 against the Washington Capitals. Dallas will make 15 appearances on TXA-21 during the 2013-14 season.

Ralph Strangis and Daryl “Razor” Reaugh return to the booth as the Stars’ television and radio broadcast team for the 18th consecutive season. Strangis begins his 24th season as a Stars’ broadcaster, while Reaugh is set to serve in his 18th season as the team’s color analyst.

Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket enters its fifth season as the flagship home of Dallas Stars hockey and will broadcast all 82 regular season games, as well as the team’s preseason contest on Thursday, Sept. 26 against the Colorado Avalanche. Bruce LeVine enters his 4th season co-hosting Dallas’ pre-game, intermission and post-game radio shows. Joining LeVine in his first season as Dallas Stars radio co-host will be Josh Bogorad. The all-sports station broadcasts on both 1310 AM and 104.1 FM.

  1. Mark, I think you are one of the best Dallas Stars writers around. I have followed you since the onramp days. (hi Nick, Mary & Andrew).. Additional history on the television networks for those interested, HSE was the home of the Dallas Stars 21 years ago, then Prime Sports then, 17 years ago Fox Sports Southwest came onboard. On the radio KLIF was the first home for Dallas Stars, for us fans that have been their from the begining we remember the wonderful welcome and joy of Reunion Arena. I miss those days but, look forward to the future that is to come. The future looks bright for this team and I am very excited for the Stars.

    Thanks for the note. The onramp days were a long, long time ago. That was the original Andrew’s site. I have a copy of that site, along with some other sites I had back in the 90′s, on a floppy disk somewhere. I’ll have to dig it out some time.
