Video: Tuesday’s skate in Frisco

Alex Chiasson and Dan Ellis were the latest guys to hit the ice as Stars players continue to skate in Frisco in preparation for training camp. Also on the ice today was former Stars captain Brenden Morrow, who is an unrestricted free agent. He’s in a black Pittsburgh Penguins practice jersey and jumps on a turnover towards the beginning of the video.  I didn’t get a chance to talk to Morrow today, but perhaps I can talk with him tomorrow to find out the latest.

Here’s about seven minutes or so worth of video from today’s skate:

  1. These little pick up games have me salivating for the new season to begin already. Can the general public come and watch (beat the heat more like) and maybe get an autograph or two?

  2. Jim/Chris,

They get out there shortly after 10 a.m. on weekdays. I usually get there at 10:30 and just about everybody is on the ice by then. They don’t skate on weekends as far as I know and I don’t know if they’ll skate on Labor Day. I’ll ask. As far as autographs, I see people out there waiting for them, so I think that is an option as well.

  3. Any idea if Morrow has teams looking at him? Seems odd no one has swept him up, unless they’re weary of his back issues.

  4. Nathan,

Morrow wasn’t out there today, so I didn’t get a chance to ask those questions. If he is out there again I’ll try to talk to him and ask.

  5. Haven’t seen Eakin yet, along with a lot of other guys. They’ll get here eventually. Hopefully before I go to Traverse City for the NHL Prospect Tournament.
