Prospect Notes: Stransky, Saskatoon eliminated at Memorial Cup

Dallas Stars prospect Matej Stransky is finished at the Memorial Cup after his Saskatoon Blades lost to the London Knights, 6-1, Thursday night.

London scored goals in spurts in the game, scoring twice in 49 seconds in the second period to turn a 1-0 lead into a 3-0 lead and then scoring three times in a 1:06 span early in the third period to push the lead to 6-0.

Stransky, Dallas’ sixth round pick (165th overall) in 2011, had no points and a minus-one rating in the game. He finished the tournament with two goals and no assists in four games.

London will play Portland and Stars prospect Taylor Peters in Friday’s semifinal. The winner of that game will play Halifax on Sunday for the Memorial Cup.

  1. Stransky disappeared at this tournament and had NO COMPETE. Zero sense of urgency…perimeter player….Good luck building him into a tougher player when the going gets tough!
