Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon scored the game-tying goal for Team Canada as it rallied to defeat Slovenia, 4-3, in overtime in its final preliminary round game at the World Championship on Monday.
Dillon scored at 7:09 of the third period, tallying off a wrist shot from the slot to tie the game at 3-3. Steven Stamkos scored in overtime to give Canada the win.
Dillon played 11:54 in the game, registered three shots on goal and had an even rating.
Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas played 19:59 for Canada. He had one shot on goal and an even rating.
Stars defenseman Philip Larsen scored a goal as Denmark defeated Belarus, 3-2, on Monday. Larsen notched the first goal of the game, scoring on a slap shot from the point with Denmark on the power play. Larsen played a team-high 22:08, had four shots on goal and an even-rating for Denmark.
Stars forward Antoine Roussel had no points in France’s 3-1 loss to Latvia. Roussel played 15:18, had three shots on goal, a minus-one rating and won 7 of 14 faceoffs.
Preliminary round play concludes on Tuesday.
