World Championship notes: Robidas picks up assist as Canada wins

Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas picked up an assist as Canada defeated Czech Republic, 2-1, at the World Championship on Sunday.

Robidas, who was paired with Dan Hamhuis in the game, assisted on a Wayne Simmonds power play goal that gave Canada a 1-0 lead in the first period.

Robidas played 21:59, had no shots on goal and an even rating.

Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon played 11:28 in Sunday’s game. He had no shots on goal and was a minus-one in the game.

Canada wraps up preliminary round play against Slovenia on Monday.

Also on Monday, Stars forward Antoine Roussel and France play Latvia and defenseman Philip Larsen and Denmark take on Belarus. Forward Loui Eriksson’s next game is on Tuesday.
