Stars defensemen Brenden Dillon and Stephane Robidas were winners Saturday at the World Championship as Canada defeated Denmark, 3-1, in the first game for both teams.
Dillon and Robidas were Canada’s top defense pairing in the game. Robidas led Canada with 22:01 of ice time. He had three shots on goal, and even rating and two penalty minutes.
Dillon was third among Canadian defensemen with 19:06 of ice time. He had one shot on goal and an even rating.
Matt Duchene scored two goals for Canada, which plays Switzerland on Sunday.
Stars defenseman Philip Larsen did not play for Denmark. He did not arrive in Stockholm in time for the game.
Stars forward Loui Eriksson had no points in Sweden’s 2-1 win over Czech Republic. Eriksson had no shots on goal in 15:04 of playing time.
