Richard Bachman will get the start in goal tonight when the Dallas Stars take on the Predators in Nashville. Bachman is coming off a solid performance in Tuesday’s 5-1 win over Los Angeles, stopping all 22 shots he faced after coming into the game late in the first period.
Kari Lehtonen, who left Tuesday’s game with a sore groin, went through the morning skate today, but still is listed as day-to-day.
“We’re thinking he should be ready for sure by Chicago (Monday) and maybe as soon as tomorrow (vs. San Jose),” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “He is still day-to-day. I haven’t talked to him since he got off the ice. Give him another day of treatment, and we’ll see how he is tomorrow.”
Cristopher Nilstorp, called up from the Texas Stars of the AHL on Wednesday, is expected to backup Bachman tonight.
Chris Mason will start in goal for the Predators, who have decided to give Pekka Rinne some time off now that they are basically out of the playoff race.
The Stars are expected to go with the same group of forwards and defensemen as last game.
