Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen said is groin is getting better, but he still not ready to play. Lehtonen will sit out tonight’s game in Nashville. Richard Bachman will get the start.
“I’m feeling a lot better than I did,” Lehtonen said. “I am going in the right direction.”
Lehtonen left Tuesday’s game against Los Angeles late in the first period with a groin injury. He was on the ice for about 30 minutes prior to Thursday’s practice, he said, and then took shots for the first part of the practice. He took part in this morning’s skate in Nashville.
“I know I couldn’t play tonight and that’s where we are right now,” he said. “Hopefully, tomorrow morning I feel better.”
Lehtonen said he isn’t sure if he’ll be ready for tomorrow’s game against San Jose at American Airlines Center.
“We’ll see how it goes tomorrow morning. It’s a tough situation,” he said. “It’s good to see Bachs do so well and hopefully he can play great tonight.”
