Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen left Tuesday night’s 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings with a lower body injury and the Stars will evaluate him on Wednesday.
“He has a lower body injury and it’s mild,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “We will reassess him tomorrow.”
A Stars official said it was a groin injury and it’s likely Lehtonen will be day-to-day.
Lehtonen apparently started experiencing some soreness during warmups, talked to trainer Dave Zeis during the first TV timeout of the game and then headed off the ice during a the TV timeout with 5:17 left in the first period and did not return.
Richard Bachman took over for Lehtonen and stopped all 22 shots on goal to pick up the win.
