Saturday update: Jamie Benn a game-time decision

Dallas Stars center Jamie Benn skated this morning at American Airlines Center and is a game-time decision for tonight’s tilt against the Chicago Blackhawks.

“He skated today and shot a few pucks. He feels great other than the wrist, but he’ll be a game-time decision,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.

During the morning skate, Benn centered a line with Ray Whitney and Erik Cole.

Ryan Garbutt, who has a hand injury, skated this morning. Gulutzan said Garbutt is doubtful for tonight. Antoine Roussel skated in Garbutt’s place on the line with Eric Nystrom and Vernon Fiddler.

If both Benn and Garbutt don’t play tonight, Tomas Vincour is available slide into the lineup.

On defense, Jamie Oleksiak will be back in the lineup after being scratched for Thursday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. Philip Larsen will be a scratch.

One injury note on defense — Aaron Rome, who has been out since February 23 with a broken foot, is skating.

“He went on the ice by himself today,” said Gulutzan. “He is a week away, or ten days or two weeks.”

Kari Lehtonen is in goal tonight.

Here’s the Stars’ probable lineup if Jamie Benn plays tonight.

Eriksson-Roy-Jagr
Whitney-Benn-Cole
Morrow-Eakin-Smith
Nystrom-Fiddler-Garbutt

Dillon-Robidas
