About the Stars
The Stars (12-11-3) are coming off a 2-1 shootout loss to Anaheim Thursday at American Airlines Center. The Stars, who fell to 0-1-1 on their current homestand, lost one goal to a quick whistle and had two shots ring off the post and crossbar in the game.
“We had a lot of good chances, just kind of got the wrong side of the post on a few of them,” said Stars forward Reilly Smith. “We have to start burying the puck because these last few games we haven’t created enough offensive opportunities to put the puck in the back of the net.”
The Stars have scored two goals over their last three games.
Kari Lehtonen will start in goal for the Stars on Saturday.
Injuries: C Jamie Benn (wrist) is questionable. RW Ryan Garbutt (hand) is questionable. D Aaron Rome (foot) is out.
About the Blackhawks
The Blackhawks (22-2-3) won 2-1 in a shootout at Columbus Thursday. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Blackhawks, who opened the season with a 24-game points streak (21-0-3).
“It’s nice,” Chicago forward Patrick Kane said. “It’s a way better feeling in here when we win. It was a good fight for us, a tight checking game. For us to come out and get two points, it’s a good confidence boost. It’s good to feel a win again.”
Thursday’s game began a four-game road trip for the Blackhawks, who are 11-1-2 away from home this season.
Corey Crawford will start in goal for the Blackhawks.
Injuries: LW Patrick Sharp (shoulder) is out.
