The Dallas Stars have been on a goal scoring run the last 11 games, and they are getting contributions from a lot of different players.
The Stars have scored three or more goals in 11 straight games, and have 39 goals (3.55 per game) during that stretch.
Fifteen different Dallas players have scored a goal over the last 11 games, including 13 forwards.
“It’s a team game and you need them from everybody,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “I think when other guys are scoring they are confident as well. As long as we stay within our roles, I think it is a good thing. Looking at the group, this year, I think we have better defined roles and who is doing what. With contributions from everybody, it’s just going to lend to confidence to the group. It’s a real positive thing.”
Jamie Benn has led the way with six goals over the last 11 games and Brenden Morrow has scored five. Loui Eriksson, Jaromir Jagr, Cody Eakin, Reilly Smith and Antoine Roussel have chipped in three each.
“I think we’ve been saying for a few years here we need scoring by committee, and it hasn’t always worked out that way, but so far it is working out for us, “ said Morrow. “The young guys are finding their own right now and finding the net for us. It takes a lot of the pressure off the top lines when everyone is contributing. Now we just have to find ways to keep the puck out of our net.”
