The Dallas Stars will go with basically the same lineup tonight against Vancouver as the last game versus Calgary, except for a couple of changes.
Cristopher Nilstorp will be in goal for his third start of the season.
Trevor Daley is out with a neck injury, and Jordie Benn, called up from the Texas Stars earlier this week, will be in the lineup.
This will be the second game of a three-game homestand for the Stars. After playing a road heavy schedule to start the season, the Stars are hoping to take advantage of a home heavy schedule.
“The last week we had a good road trip, but we need to make hay at home,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “I think that is the key here. We have home games tonight (vs. Vancouver) and looking ahead to Saturday (vs. San Jose), and we need to make hay at home. I like where we’re going, but we have to play with the intensity, the grit and the heart like we did in Vancouver (Friday) to get the win.”
There is nothing new on the status of defenseman Trevor Daley, who left Sunday’s game against Calgary late in the second period with a neck issue.
“He’s still day-to-day and he’s a no-go tonight,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “He didn’t skate today and that puts Saturday (vs. San Jose) in a little bit of jeopardy. We’re expecting there will be a good improvement in one of these days, but we just haven’t seen it yet.”
There was no update on goaltender Kari Lehtonen, who will miss his second game with a groin injury. Lehtonen was injured in Friday’s game at Vancouver.
“He’s day-to-day,” said Gulutzan.
