Dallas Stars Prospect Report: Feb. 4

Here are some notes on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and the European leagues.

*RW Brett Ritchie (second round/2011) racked up six points (three goals, three assists) in his last two games for Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League. Ritchie had one goal and three assists as Niagara defeated Erie, 5-1, on Friday night. Then, on Saturday night, he scored two goals as Niagara topped Mississauga, 4-1. Ritchie was the first star in both games. Ritchie ranks fourth in the OHL with 31 goals in 39 games.

*RW Matej Stransky (sixth round/2011) had four points (two goals, two assists) in three games for Saskatoon of the Western Hockey League over the past week. Stransky ranks second on Saskatoon in scoring with 56 points (26 goals, 30 assists) in 51 games this season.

D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) has one assist and a plus-seven rating over his last three games for P.E.I. of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Vance has 20 points (3 goals, 17 assists) this season playing for both P.E.I. and Victoriaville this season.

C Devin Shore (second round/2012) picked up assists in both of his games for the University of Maine this weekend, running his points streak to four games (0 goals, 4 assists). Shore, a freshman, ranks second on Maine in scoring with 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) in 27 games.

D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010) scored his first goal of the season as Skelleftea lost to Timra, 3-2, in the Swedish Elite League on Saturday. Klingberg has 9 points (1 goal, 8 assists) and a plus-8 rating in 16 games this season.

LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) has been loaned to Mora of Sweden’s second division from Brynas of the Swedish Elite League. The move was made to get Molin more ice time. Molin has no points in two games for Mora.

D Jyrki Jokipakka (seventh round/2011) snapped a nine-game pointless streak by picking up an assist in Ilves’ 3-2 loss to JYP last week. Jokipakka has 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists) in 47 games this season.

D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) has been playing in Finnish juniors recently. He has four points (two goals, two assists) in five games for Jokerit’s junior club.

G Henri Kiviaho (fifth round/2012) stopped 72 of 74 shots in his two starts last week in Finnish junior hockey, winning one game and losing the other in a shootout. Kiviaho is 14-11 this season with a 2.54 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

*Injury notes: C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) is out for another 3-5 weeks with an MCL injury. RW Branden Troock is day-to-day with a shoulder injury.
