The Texas Stars won all three of their games this past weekend, pushing their winning streak to a franchise-record six games. The Stars are 22-11-3-2 on the season, and currently sit second in the South Division and fourth in the Western Conference. They rank fourth in the AHL in points (49) and seventh in the league in points percentage (.645).
The Stars made a stop in Dallas Monday and Tuesday. They’ll take part in a scrimmage with the Dallas Stars Tuesday morning in Frisco, and then head out to continue their road trip.
Friday January 11, Houston at Texas: Stars 4, Aeros 1
Matt Fraser and Jordie Benn scored power play goals as the Stars overcame an early 1-0 deficit and defeated Houston 4-1. Antoine Roussel and Cody Eakin also scored for the Stars, who outshot Houston 39-13. Cristopher Nilstorp made 12 saves as Texas ran its winning streak to four games.
Saturday January 12, San Antonio at Texas: Stars 3, Rampage 1
Benn, Fraser and Alex Chiasson scored goals and Nilstorp stopped 25 shots as the Stars won their fifth straight game with a 3-1 victory over San Antonio at Cedar Park Center.
The Stars fell behind 1-0 early, but Chiasson scored late in the first to tie and Benn’s power play goal at 12:18 of the second period put the Stars up for good.
Texas outshot San Antonio 38-26.
Sunday January 13, Texas at Oklahoma: Stars 3, Barons 0
Jack Campbell stopped 36 shots for his second career AHL shutout as the Stars kicked off a six-game road trip with a 3-0 victory over Oklahoma City. Fraser, Colton Sceviour and Tomas Vincour scored for Texas. It was the sixth straight win for the Stars, a franchise record.
Both teams were missing several key players due to the end of the NHL lockout and players being recalled for training camp. The Stars were without Nilstorp, Eakin, Benn, Roussel, Brenden Dillon and Reilly Smith. Oklahoma City was without players such as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Justin Schultz.
*Texas has outscored its opposition 21-8 during its six-game winning streak.
*The Stars are 8-22 (36.4%) on the power play over the six games.
*Texas is 21-24 (87.5%) on the penalty kill during the winning streak.

*Reilly Smith, who is currently at Dallas Stars training camp, picked up two assists in two games over the weekend, and took over the team lead in scoring with 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists).
*C Travis Morin missed the last game with an undisclosed injury
*LW Francis Wathier has missed the last eight games with an undisclosed injury.
