With the Texas Stars releasing Cam Barker from his professional tryout contract over the weekend, there is a roster spot open on defense in Cedar Park. So, today the Dallas Stars assigned Hubert Labrie to Texas from Idaho of the ECHL. Here’s the release from the Texas Stars:
The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has reassigned defenseman Hubert Labrie to Texas from the Idaho Steelheads, the Stars’ ECHL affiliate.
Labrie, 21, returns to Texas for the second time this season, having made his 2012-13 Stars debut on Wednesday, November 21st against the Oklahoma City Barons, recording five penalty minutes and a +1 rating. The Victoriaville, Quebec native has appeared in 22 games for Idaho this season, recording five points (2 goals, 3 assists), 46 penalty minutes and a +10 rating. Labrie has played in 34 career AHL games for the Stars, scoring three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and amassing 23 penalty minutes.
