*RW Brett Ritchie (second round/2011) had 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in three games over the past week for Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League. Ritchie has 31 points (20 goals, 11 assists) in his last 14 games. Ritchie has 47 points (24 goals, 23 assists) in 30 games this season. He’s second in the league in goal scoring and fourth in points.
*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) had a goal, an assist and the only goal in the shootout as Kitchener defeated Plymouth, 5-4, in OHL play Saturday night. The goal was just the second in the last 15 games for Faksa, but the assist was his ninth over the last seven games.
*C Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) had two assists in Owen Sound’s 4-3 shootout victory over Saginaw in the OHL Sunday. Smith has points in 19 of his last 24 games and has registered 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) during that stretch.
*RW Matej Stransky (sixth round/2011) registered 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) in 3 games for Saskatoon of the Western Hockey league over the past week. Stransky has 23 points (9 goals, 14 assists) over his last 19 games.
*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) has put together back-to-back two-goal games for Prince Albert of the WHL. Winther had 2 goals and 1 assist as the Raiders defeated Regina, 5-3, on Friday. He scored 2 goals as the Raiders routed Regina, 8-2, on Sunday. Winther has 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 26 games this season.
*C Scott Winkler (third round/2008) had 2 goals and 2 assists as Colorado College defeated North Dakota, 5-3, on Friday. Winkler has 18 points (10 goals, 8 assists) in 16 games, and is tied for third in the nation in goal scoring and is tied for 12th in points.
*LW Curtis McKenzie (sixth round/2009) had 1 goal and 2 assists as Miami won both its games against Alaska this weekend. McKenzie, who has points in three straight games, has 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 12 games this season.
*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) currently leads junior defenseman playing in the Swedish Elite League in scoring with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) in 23 games. He ranks third among junior defensemen in average ice time, logging 10:41 per game.
*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) picked up his third point of the season as Brynas defeated the Vaxjo Lakers, 4-2, in the Swedish Elite League last week. Molin has 1 goal and 2 assists in 22 games in Sweden’s top league this season.
*D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010) has been cleared to play after missing his Swedish Elite League team’s first 28 games due to offseason hip surgery. Klingberg dressed for Skelleftea’s game on Saturday, but did not log any ice time.
*LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) did not play in the University of Michigan’s two games at Ferris State over the weekend. Guptill, who has not scored a goal in his last eight games, was listed as a healthy scratch.
*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) remains out with an upper body injury for Seattle of the WHL. He hasn’t played since October 20.
