You have a chance to watch Dallas Stars prospect Brett Ritchie play tonight on national television. Ritchie is scheduled to suit up for Team OHL as it plays Russia in the 2012 SUBWAY Super Series. Tonight’s game will be carried live on the NHL Network in the United States starting at 6 p.m. Central Time.
Tonight’s game will be the third of the series, which has select junior players from Russia playing against all-star teams from the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The-six game series has Russia playing two games against each league. The Russians and QMJHL split the first two games of the series.
Ritchie, Dallas’s second round pick (44th overall) in 2011, has been on a roll lately, scoring nine goals in his last two games for the Niagara Ice Dogs of the OHL. He was named the OHL and CHL player of the week.
Among those on the OHL roster are NHL first round picks Ryan Strome, Ryan Murphy, Cody Ceci, Scott Laughton, Slater Koekkoek and goaltender Malcom Subban.
Nail Yakupov, the first overall selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and Mikhail Grigorenko, the 12th overall selection in 2012, are on Russia’s roster.
