Here are a few notes on Dallas Stars prospects from Friday night’s games.
*Center Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) ran his points streak to ten games Friday night, registering two goals and two assists as Owen Sound topped Erie, 6-3, in the Ontario Hockey League. Smith has 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) during the streak. For the season, Smith has 19 points (eight goals, eleven assists) in 15 games.
*Right wing Matej Stransky (sixth round/2011) picked up an assist in Saskatoon’s 3-2 overtime victory over Kootenay in the Western Hockey League. Stransky now has points in seven of his last eight games, registering ten points (two goals, eight assists) during that stretch.
*Defenseman Esa Lindell (third round/2012) scored a goal in Kiekko-Vantaa’s 4-3 loss to JYP-Akatemia in Finland’s second tier league on Friday. Lindell has two goals and one assist in four games with K-Vantaa.
*Goaltender Tyler Beskorowany (second round/2008) stopped 29 of 31 shots as the Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 in Boise Friday evening. It was the second straight win for Beskorowany, who has stopped 69 of 73 shots in his last two starts.
